Liver & Biliary tree

The largest solid organ in the body is the liver. It has a variety of metabolic activities, and no one can survive without a functioning Liver. Through the bile ducts, hepatic artery, and portal vein, it drains and connects to the GI tract. The Gallbladder is connected to the common hepatic duct by the cystic duct. Together, these form the Common Bile Duct, which in turn connects to the pancreatic duct or directly to the duodenum. Multiple disease processes affect all the above, including: Stones, Cysts or Tumors.
