TTP is Thromotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. It is the excessive abnormal plugging of platelets at different important sites that lead to a lot organ dysfunction and the excessive consumption. This is a medical immunologic disease that is treated with washing out of the plasma of the patient (plasmapheresis). If recurrent and requires more washout sessions, then splenectomy plays a role.
